Collaboration, flexibility and design: How the new BSH headquarters in Milan took shape
Reading time: 3 minutes
BSH Italia has a brand new home in Milan. Conceived by Loop Design Studio, a boutique architecture and design studio based in Milan, the new headquarters is located on the Bosch Italy Campus in the revived Portello district of fashion’s capital city.
Pick your own workplace
One remarkable thing about this new headquarters: absolutely everyone, including management, can choose where to work each day. Having no assigned workplaces helps to foster collaboration and promotes the sharing of experience and expertise. With Loop Design Studio committed to “creating spaces that are purposeful, personal, and built in the best way possible”, great attention was paid to optimizing the ergonomics with things like electrified height-adjustable desks.
“The space was carefully imagined and built with consideration to flexibility and innovation in daily work – and based on the most important BSH core values: respect, collaboration, and people’s motivation”, notes CEO Enrico Hoffmann. Workstations and open areas were all created to be shared, so the design challenge was to create a pleasant and stimulating ambiance throughout.
BSH colors, graphics and ideas influence the spaces
No matter what function a space has, the atmosphere takes strong cues from the new BSH Corporate Design, which is rich in natural elements. This fresh, forward-looking ambiance is echoed everywhere from the welcome desk entrance, to the conversation areas with high tables and stools, plants and open bookcases, to the large break area, equipped with appliances from BSH brands and furnished with modular tables and seating. For more informal moments there are also pleasant corners for conversations over coffee. Columns covered in green and dividers with lamellas in natural wood characterize the passageway areas.
The plentiful meeting rooms are dedicated to our four brands Bosch, Siemens, Gaggenau and Neff and to famous icons of Milan such as the Duomo, La Scala Theatre, the Navigli neighborhood of canals and other attractions.
A special highlight is the “Genius Room" for brainstorming meetings. Here, modular and versatile seating elements are designed to promote the birth and exchange of new ideas. In parallel, multiple phone booths are available for confidential phone and video calls in a comfortable, sound-insulated environment. A corporate restaurant and underground parking are also available for employees and guests.
