The letters CIP play an important role in BSH’s manufacturing in Traunreut. They stand for “Continuous Improvement Process,” and describe the way in which quality is assured there: in small, ongoing steps. As a CIP metalworker, Sabrina is responsible for the complete manufacturing. “I make sure that my colleagues’ work on the production line runs smoothly,” she explains.

There is almost a family atmosphere, and the people here stick together no matter what happens.

After her apprenticeship, Sabrina first spent a year working in maintenance. Her main duty now is making her colleagues’ work easier – with empathy and creativity. “I try to meet their individual wishes and requirements. Of course it is not possible to reconfigure a workstation after every shift when we work in three shifts. But I help my colleagues to the best of my ability.”

Sabrina works in close collaboration with her colleagues. “After all, we are all constantly searching for new solutions together.” That might be why the working environment in manufacturing is so good. “There is almost a family atmosphere, and the people here stick together no matter what happens.” That is one thing about her job that she really likes. She also likes the fact that it is not all routine. “Not one day is the same as the last, there is plenty of variety. I am always faced with new challenges.”

Some ideas are hatched by Sabrina without her colleagues. Such as the one to use something other than conveyor belts. She submitted her idea to the BSH employee suggestion system – and hit the bullseye. Thanks to her idea, the company now saves a significant amount of money every year. “It is a great feeling to be able to look at the idea I had being put into practice in manufacturing every day.”

For the immediate future, the enthusiastic Bavarian League soccer player has some studying to do. “The master craftsman who taught me would like me to become a trainee supervisor. That is great validation for the work I do here every day.”
