Atul Velhal has been working as a Customer Service technician in Western India for ten years. He knows quite well how to meet local consumer needs, visiting many of their homes on a daily basis. Once the pandemic hit India in 2020, however, these personal visits became a rare exception. Diverse workforces – sounds great! But what if our socialization makes it difficult for us to build a diverse and inclusive circle of friends and colleagues? Why doesn't a diversity mindset lead to an inclusive work environment on its own? These questions were raised during the session “Is Diversity Inclusive Enough?” at the BSH Diversity Week. We asked the session’s organizers for their insights.
